Hey, Bayers!
The thermometer is already over 31°C (87°F), and Summer hasn’t even officially started. It’s the ideal weather to sit under a tree, on a porch, or by a ceiling fan, with an iced tea, and enjoy some chill RPGing. That’s perfect timing because, at The Lost Bay Studio, we just received a haul of new zines!
Good Luck Press
We’re extremely honored and excited to announce that, starting today, we’ll be carrying Good Luck Press's full catalog. Their games have been in our inventory for a few months already and are among our best sellers. With Seb Pines and Will Jobst, the duo of designers and publishers behind GLP, we’ve decided to push the collaboration a bit further. GLP outputs a constant stream of beautiful, well-designed, innovative games, and they’re a publisher we are committed to supporting and keeping on our shelves.
Today we have three new mini-bundles:
Anthology Duology
A collection of 20 games—yes, that’s right!
Two anthologies of games exploring themes of letter-writing, intimacy, and connection. In the Anthology Duology bundle, find twenty games by Seb Pines and Will Jobst, collected together and presented in print for the first time.
Hidden in the Margins is a collection of ten experimental roleplaying games, all themed around the margins of notebooks, scraps of paper, or the contents of a letter.
Between the Covers is a collection of ten experimental roleplaying games, all themed around connection, sensuality, and intimacy.
Go grab a pencil and that iced tea, and dive gently into the Anthology Duology!
Dance of Death Bundle
Become a monster and flee, or chase the monster that stole your love from you. Flight and pursuit ending in the deadly final encounter between a monster and a hunter.

Rice Fields and Miyazaki Love
In the last ten days, I’ve drafted the proof of concept for a solo journaling/exploration game about riding trains through rice fields and a love letter to Spirited Away, one of Miyazaki’s masterpieces. It uses a deck of cards and two d6 dice, and gets you on the most important journey of your life. The game is based on the Carta SRD and can be played in a short session. Right now, the playtest PDF is available for free, and I could use feedback before revising the draft. If you’d like to try it, besides my affection, you’ll get a copy of the final version. Just hit me with a DM or comment, and I’ll send you the PDF.
Liminal Horror Masterclass
April was Liminal Horror month, with the Deluxe Edition and other extremely cool third-party games being crowdfunded. I jumped on the Liminal train to do a double podcast interview with
and Josh Domanski, the design duo behind LH. We cover so many aspects of RPG game design and modern horror in RPGs; I like to call this the LH Masterclass. You can get it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify (and probably your favorite podcasting application).Part 1

The Hidden Part of the Iceberg
While all of this was happening, I spent most of my days working on The Lost Bay manuscript and Outer Rim Uprising. Both projects have made significant advancements, and I sent out the PDF copy of the ORU Campaign Handbook to backers yesterday.
I’ll cover those in a successive newsletter. In the meantime, enjoy your train journey, chill Sunday, weekend, and week.
Cheers, Iko
I'd play test your Rice Field Train RPG. Hit me up!
