New podcast, new Eco-MOFOs zine, restocks!
Interview with Jesse Ross, The Cathedral of Hope for Eco-MOFOS
As always, we’ve got lots of restocked zines and modules! We’ll also be adding a new zine, written and designed by somebody who folks frequenting the Lost Bay Discord just might recognize...
But first, the restocks!
Lost Eons - Lost Eons is solarpunk sci-fantasy setting and RPG system, set long after anything you or I have ever known has fallen. You play as post-human wastrels, wandering through a terrible and inscrutable landscape of the future.
Lone Eons - Lone Eons is an iteration of Lost Eons, focused specifically on playing the game solo. You use dice and a standard pack of playing cards to generate interesting opportunities and problems for your fucked up little guy (gender neutral.)
Babel - Based on the Wretched & Alone system for solo RPGs, Babel is a game of perseverance and revelation, inspired by Pieter Bruegel's painting of the Tower of Babel. Discover yourself, and the Unified Language, within this impossible edifice.
ECO MOFOS!! - Eco Mofos is a post-apocalyptic, weirdhope game of punky misfits trying to scrape together a life in the ruins of a society long gone. The system is ruleslite and quick, based off both Into the Odd and Cairn, allowing for speedy, rulings-driven adventures into the wastes of the fallen world.
And now for our new product...
The Cathedral of Hope by Caelin Araven
This zine is a module for Eco Mofos, able to be run with no prep at all, though it can be effortlessly slotting into an on-going campaign just as easily. It features a homesteading village built up around the Sunrise Temple, a laboratory/church dedicated to the study of artifacts and the fallen ruins of the old world.
This village can serve as a base camp for your Punks, able to be upgraded and grown. With the Punks help they can survive, and perhaps even thrive. But if your band of misfits do, they best be sure to take care of it, for fate is fickle and unpredictable, and not all changes in a community are positive...
Are your punks up to the task? If so, you can check this great module out here!
New Episode of the Lost Bay podcast!
We’ve got a new episode of the Lost Bay podcast for y’all, featuring an interview with Jesse Ross, the designer of Trophy Dark! TD is the game that inspired the most recent iteration of The Lost Bay RPG, TLB Reborn!
In this episode Iko and Jesse talk about Trophy Dark, its vibes and mechanics and the unique ways it can tell stories. They also talk about dealing with hubris (very applicable in our current dark days) and having fun telling uncanny tales.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, take a listen!
You can check it out on Spotify
Or listen to it on Apple Podcasts!
Hey Iko grabbing the mic here:
That's all for today, folks. In the next issue, expect a new Urban Legend (a one-shot adventure) for The Lost Bay (I announced this a few days ago, but I'm refining the draft like a meticulous punk-monk, and it requires a few more days!).
Also, are you familiar with Skyrealms, the rainbowy, system-neutral fantasy setting I released a couple of years ago?
Spoiler: I'm slowly working to add super-lightweight rules and turn it into a standalone game. I've started running it on the server, and it's super fun. If you're interested in playing or participating in the development journey, come say hi on the server.
Have a great rest of the week,
Wren, Iko.
Some good games there!
