Dear readers of The Dispatch, today I have a short and exciting newsletter for you.
I had planned to write about quite a few things, and to do some signal boosting on other cool projects, but turns out I’ve been spending the last weeks working almost full time for the store. I took care of the bundles that have been ordered and are being pre-produced/produced/shipped, and, most of all, of the upcoming Outer Rim Uprising Kickstarter campaign. There will be plenty of time, in the upcoming days and weeks, to unpack all of this!
Now, without further ado, let me show you the Outer Rim Uprising reveal video produced by Holly Jenka, super talented 3D designer.
We’re launching Tuesday October 3. As you know, the success of a campaign depends very much on how it performs in the first 48 hours. If you want to support the campaign, you can help us boost our newsletter, our tweets, or bluesky. If you can and feel like it, give it an early pledge! Backers in the first 48 hours will receive up to three patches designed by Alfred Valley, representing in-game ORU factions. They look rad!
I won’t spoil much of what you’ll be able to read in the KS page in less than two days. I’d just like to add a few things that are super important to us, the ORU designer team. Outer Rim Uprising has a riotous theme and spirit. Well, we tried to bake this spirit in the production process itself, in our own way and with the capacity we have
We’ve built the bundle to be REPLAYABLE, MODULAR, SCALABLE. It’s packed with gaming content that can be used with many different configurations, over time. That makes the bundle super lasting.
As a publisher, I’ve done my best to do ethical sourcing of vendors and printing partners. It means a lof for me to be able to enjoy our hobby, while taking care of our dear planet.
We’ve picked a pretty simple financial model: we do profit sharing between all game designers.
Outer Rim Uprising goes live in less than two days. Give it a follow, I’m sure there’s plenty in it that you might like https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thelostbay/outer-rim-uprising
ALERT: a sneak peek video just dropped on Dieku Games Podcast. In it, together with Josh Domanski and Marco Serrano, we reveal quite a few things about the bundle.
If you want to know more about the bundle, I can only recommend reading the Cloud Empress newsletter. I had the chance to be invited by watt for an interview where we talked about ORU and The Lost Bay RPG. The CE newsletter is fantastic. In this issue, watt shares a free rulebook link and a free table with a fantastic dreamy layout! If you're reading The Dispatch, you’d certainly like watt’s work. I warmly recommend it.
Creator Toolkit
And lastly, a quick info about The Lost Bay RPG. Today I’ve released the first draft of the Creator Toolkit, a series of guidelines to facilitate the design of 3rd party content for TLB.
It’s 100% free, go snag it on the-lost-bay.itch.io/thelostbayrpg
That’s all I got for today. Stay tuned, we’ll have a lot of content to share in the upcoming month: interviews, actual plays and more.
Thanks for being here.
Have a great day/night
Iko
